Rajshahi, one of the dominant divisions of Bangladesh, is no exception, as it also contains numerous residential areas. One of the oldest residential areas here is Padma Residential Area, completing its construction in 1992. People living there come with expectations that define the term housing satisfaction related to factors such as sociodemographic condition, income, rent, mobility, security, accessibility etc. The objective of the assessment was to find out the satisfaction level of the residents with knowing the present housing condition based on those factors. 67 primary data samples with a confidence level of 90% and 10% confidence interval were collected through questionnaires and physical survey. The data were analyzed with MS excel showing graphical representation consisting of pie charts, bar charts. The study showed that 70% of the people are happy and eager to stay here, but they are facing safety, security and social challenges. The entrance of heavy vehicles through some areas, a huge number of unsocial activities and annoying activities like robbery, theft, etc. are one of the major barriers in front of the higher satisfaction level of this area. This study will influence other residential areas to become more sustainable for residents. This study also is an example for other developing areas as this shows that not only area selection and designing is important but also the inner safety-security and social development are necessary for establishing a residential area. Key Word: Residential Area, Mobility, Accessibility, Housing Satisfaction, Housing I. Introduction In recent years, people are more interested in moving to the Urban residential areas for which the satisfaction level becomes a key factor for the convenience of the residents. For the past few decades, the study on the urban residential form has been of growing interest in the international research arena. It is difficult to find out a comprehensive definition for 'urban' and 'every country defines "urban" independently' [1]. Often, definitions of urbanization involve one or more of the following characteristics; administrative criteria, economic criteria, population-related criteria, and urban criteria related to the functional nature of urban locations. As an alternative to administrative definitions for urban areas, other definitions are based on population size, population density, economic functions, availability of particular infrastructure, and availability of certain services. Globally, more than 50% of the population lives in urban metropolitan areas [2, 3]. The metropolitan population worldwide will grow to 6 billion by 2045. As cities give more than 80% of the total GDP, new concepts should be taken to maintain balanced growth, ensuring the highest level of productivity with the interpretation of new ideas [2, 4, 5]. Bangladesh is facing rapid urbanization through rapid population growth since its independence in 1971. More than 25% of people in Bangladesh currently live in urban areas, and the current trend will lead more than 50% of population in urban areas by 2030 [6]. To check this haphazard
