It can be said that the easy way to ensure the continuity of reading and interpretation activities for international students who are learning Turkish is to follow daily newspapers. This study aims to determine how many thousand words should be known according to their order in terms of their frequency in Turkish review studies to read and understand the newspapers, and to what extent these words provide a scope. Words obtained by being categorized into headlines, sub-headlines, news texts, and columns were transferred to frequency analysis program by being identified from the newspapers published in the news, thought, and sports genres for a week. The word sequences in the national written collections created by Göz (2003) and Aksan (2017) are divided into five- hundred sections. Thus, the word coverage ratio of five-hundred percentile words in newspapers was determined. As a result, it was determined that how many parts that contain five hundred words in the compilation dictionary are needed to be known to make a person learning Turkish to reach a level to read and understand a newspaper.
