The pandemic is tightening its firm grip on the world. Every country, be it the one with an
advanced health care system or otherwise is being overwhelmed by the enormity of the dev-
astation caused by the raging virus. The pandemic has now widened its reach and impact.
Epicenter after epicenter, it is claiming the lives of many and disrupting and livelihood of the
multitude. It has gravely affected the economy of many nations and has made the survival
of some businesses very difficult. Some businesses have, however, fought their way into the
pandemic and are making meaningful social contributions as well. Major manufacturers and
tech giants in different countries are ramping up efforts to help the scientific community in
its ongoing effort to find a vaccine for the virus. Their efforts in this regard is bearing fruit
as some major vaccine manufacturers have developed efficacious and safe vaccine that have
already started rolling out in different parts of the world. They are also contributing billions
of dollars to help those who are directly or indirectly affected by the pandemic. For some
businesses the pandemic has been a sliverlining that has brought huge bonanza. This piece is
based on the argument that, although businesses are heavily engaged in such corporate social
responsibility practices, academic and organizational researchers have not investigated the
issue as expected. Apart from rekindling researchers’ interest in the area, the piece attempts
to list out some of the research issues and agendas that researchers should consider in during
and after the pandemic.
