Doongursee College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Dadar, Mumbai 400028, India. ABSTRACT Mahim Creek in Mumbai commonly called as ‘Mahim chi Khadi’ is known for its preservation of mini - ecosystem. This region is rich in wetland biodiversity. The River Mithi is drained thorough-out the whole space interlinked between Bandra – Kurla Complex. Mangrove is a dominant species of Mahim inlet; a tropical species grown in saline and brackish water. The current research attempt is completed to study the diversity of Mangroves facilitating a supportive system for the native population of Adivasi Koli community. Wetlands provide efficient provision for cost- effective business opportunity for the rise of economy. The statistical analysis of survey completed with a help of Adivasi community depicts this species prominence. Mangroves provide a space of clime for preservation and breeding of aquatic species. The research successfully concludes importance of mangroves for diversified environment sustaining the atmospheric balance of wetland. Keywords: Mangroves, Mahim-creek, cost-effective business. I. INTRODUCTION Wetland is a diversified land in ecosystem that is the inter-link between people, wildlife and environment. Wetlands are downstream receiver of water and waste which includes both natural and human source. They sustain the water supplies and thus extenuate both floods and drought, they purify the polluted water and protect the sea banks (Bay). These wetlands also provide favorable condition to those species who are at the risk of extinction. The wetland of Mahim creek is more than an acre completely filled up the growth of dense forestation of mangrove plants. These are most productive and biologically important ecosystem on this planet (Neethu G. Pillai and Harilal C. C). The mangrove extent is found higher in Indo-Malaysian region (Chapman). Mangrove forest provide many ecosystem services and supporting services (Sahadev Sharma). Mangrove provide a unique habitat opportunity for many species (Laura Carugati, Beatrice Gatto et. al.). The presence of dominant existence of mangrove creates the relationships between biodiversity and functioning of marine ecosystems into a positive states (Cardinale, B.) Adivasi Koli population dominates the region of Mahim creek. This community owns few plots of land and is residing in the locations more than 100 years from their forefathers. The region is dense with many useful and harmful biological organism such as crabs, lizards, spiders, sponges, snakes etc. The local people are busy in daily routine economic activity of fish culturing and breeding. These people owns artificial fish rearing ponds and wells through which the cultured aquatic organisms are further utilized for selling in the fishery market. This region is diversified and comes into a protected zone of mangrove species conservation dominating the wetland throughout the area allocated between Bandra –Mahim space. The current research attempt focuses on survey method for analyzing the economic activity and the integration of mangrove plantations in terms of supporting cost effectiveness during the whole protocol. II. MATERIALS AND METHODS The survey method consisted questionnaire of livelihood of cost effectiveness of culturing aquatic species in the region of mangrove wetland along-with their lifestyle. The list of individuals contributed for the survey is given below: 1) Vinayak Koli 2) Jain Koli
