Thyroid hormones play an essential role in a variety of metabolic and developmental processes in the human body. Thyroid hormones are important for brain development, cell maturation, increased O 2 consumption, and controlling the others hormones. Hyperthyroidism develops when the body exposed to excessive amount of thyroid hormone. This disorder affects in women 5 to 10 times more often than men. Hyperthyroidism occurs due to excessive long term iodine intake or autoimmune events such as Graves’ disease. Hyperthyroidism is more common in the replete Iodine Defciency Disorder (IDD) area such as Magelang. Objective. This research aimed to identify autoimmune as a risk factor of hyperthyroidism at replete IDD area. Method. This is a case control study with 24 subjects in the case group and 41 subjects in the control group. Screening for each group through TSH and fT4. Result. On control group thyroid hormone level which is fT4 and fT3 and also TSH at group control group in normal status fT4= 1,6 pg/mL (normal 0,8-2) ; fT3 = 2,36 ( 1,2-4,2) pg / mL; TSH=1,65µIU / l ( 0,3-4)) compared to case group ( fT4= 2,52 pg / ml ; fT3 = 2,96 pg / ml; TSH=0,08µIU / l respectivelly. Autoimmune Graves’ have the robust relation to the hyperthyroid occurence ( OR: 18,86; 95%CI) Conclusion. Titer TR ab (Tyroid Hormone Reseptor antibody) represent the strong factor in supporting hyperthyroid cases in women childbearing age in IDD replete area likely Magelang. Hormon tiroid berperan dalam perkembangan otak dan pematangan sel dan jaringan, peningkatan konsumsi oksigen oleh sel serta berperan dalam sekresi dan pengendalian produksi hormon lainnya. Sekresi hormon tiroid yang berlebihan akan menimbulkan hipertiroid. Hipertiroid banyak terjadi pada wanita usia subur (WUS) dan risikonya 5-10 kali dibandingkan pria. Hipertiroid dapat terjadi karena asupan iodium yang berlebih dalam jangka panjang atau kejadian autoimun seperti pada penyakit Graves. Hipertiroid banyak terjadi pada daerah replete Gangguan Akibat Kekurangan Iodium (GAKI) seperti wilayah Magelang. Tujuan.
