ABSTRACT
Cloud computing is a buzz word for organization which are on digital journey. Most
pursued benefits of digitalization are being released by usages of cloud technology.
Cloud computing technology is rapidly replacing traditional data centres. Cloud
technology is helping their consumers with benefits such as speed, scalability,
availability, and cheaper cost based on usages. Organizations are making most out of
cloud computing technology across industries sectors.
The small and medium enterprises do not have much IT budgets for buying the state
of art technologies for their IT setup. Service offering models of cloud technology such
as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a
Service (SaaS) is a ray of hope.
By adopting cloud computing, SMEs are off boarding few of their IT operational
responsibilities to cloud service providers. While SMEs could focus on their core
competencies to bring more agility in their business operation and services.
Cloud service providers are holding expertise and they are also getting benefited
due to economy of scale and assured business opportunities due to locking-in period.
This is surely a win-win proposition for SMEs as well as for cloud service providers
across globe. SMEs are contributing largely into gross domestic product (GDP) and in
turn increasing the employment opportunities for countries. The healthier is the SMEs,
they will contribute more positively into the progress of nation.
Many attempts have been made to increase the cloud adoption in SMEs by
encouraging them through required knowledge, tools and techniques. Researcher
across globe have also helped industries through their research and brought up various
perspectives on table. The paper is an attempt to find out the cloud computing trends
