ABSTRACT
Optimization is momentous for anything and everything that wants to grow. It often
aids in manufacturing world for cost cutting, without compromising the quality. The
objective of this research article is to optimize the design of the product carrier for an
industry, which manufactures long members of chassis for various commercial vehicles.
Product carrier is an integral component, employed for the transportation of long
members to the curing oven, to conclude the dry finishing or powder coating process.
This article compares the existing design of product carrier with proposed design in
terms of Von-Mises stress and deformation. It has been observed that the proposed
design with lower weight is unaltered in the mechanical strength. Also, the modified
design has been verified and accepted by the industry
Keywords: Product carrier, Finite Element Analysis, Weight Optimization, Bending
