ABSTRACT
Cryptography is an art of writing the secret codes. Cryptographers tries to write
secret codes. Secret codes will be broken by cryptanalysts. Cartographers and
cryptanalyst always try to be ahead of each other. Genetic algorithms (GA) are
structured yet randomized search algorithm invented by Darwinian’s evolutionary
ideas about natural selection and genetics. We have discussed about comparison of
traditional cryptographic algorithms and genetic algorithm based cryptography
methods in this paper. Genetic Algorithm based cryptosystem is more secure and
unbreakable than traditional cryptosystem.
Key words: Cipher, Cryptography, Cryptanalysis, Genetic Algorithm, Key Size.

1. INTRODUCTION
The term Cryptography came from Greek word called “krypto’s” which defines “Hidden
Secrets”. Cryptography is the excercise and theory of beating information. It is skill / discipline
of transforming a plain / original data into coded data and again reconverting that plain text into
its original data.
