Serie verde | Caracas, julio- diciembre 2009 RET is an interdisciplinary scientific and academic journal open to all streams of thought, paradigms and research styles. This journal has room for the entire spectrum of natural and technological sciences as well as social and humanistic sciences, taking into account all the investigative and argumentative thoroughness, depth and seriousness pertinent to a publication of its nature. Consequently, its numbers are comprised of works that tackle problems within natural, technologi- cal and humanistic fields. RET is a biannual publication evaluated through a double-blind peer review process, with national and international circulation. RET has as main objectives: 1) to constitute a scientific and academic editorial space with an inter- and trans- disciplinary character. It must therefore have room for varied styles of research and studies of its respective ar- eas, as well as a multiplicity of theoretical and method- ological approaches; 2) to publish partial and final results of studies that seek answers to different conundrums through theoretical developments, empiric and applied research, among others, that, due to their significance and relevance, deserve to be propagated; 3) to be a vehi- cle for the divulgation of scientific and academic activity carried out at IDEA and other internationally recognized institutions. RET expects to be a scientific and academic journal of national and international impact. The works published herein are the entire responsibility of their authors and not of the journal or the sponsoring institutions. RET es una revista científica y académica de carácter transdisciplinario, plural y abierta a todas las corrientes de pensamiento, paradigmas y estilos de investigación, así como a la reflexión en los ámbitos del saber de las ciencias naturales y tecnológicas y de las ciencias huma- nas, para lo cual toma como previsión la rigurosidad, profundidad y seriedad investigativa y argumentativa. Sus ediciones comprenden trabajos dedicados tanto a las ciencias naturales y tecnológicas como a las sociales y humanas. RET, de periodicidad semestral, es una pu- blicación arbitrada mediante el procedimiento de doble ciego, de circulación nacional e internacional. RET tiene como propósitos principales: 1) constituir un espacio editorial científico y académico de carácter interdisciplinario y transdisciplinario, que dé cabida a distintos tipos de investigación y de estudio en sus áreas respectivas, así como también a la multiplicidad de en- foques teóricos y metodológicos, temáticas y formas de reportar la práctica investigativa; 2) publicar resultados parciales y finales de estudios e investigaciones que res- pondan a perspectivas tales como desarrollos teóricos, investigaciones con referentes empíricos e investigacio- nes de aplicación, entre otros, que por su calidad e im- portancia merezcan ser difundidos; 3) ser un órgano de divulgación de la actividad científica y académica realiza- da en el IDEA y en otras instituciones, tanto nacionales como internacionales. RET pretende ser una revista científica y académica de referencia nacional e internacional. Los artículos publicados en ella son de la entera responsabilidad de sus autores y no de la revista o de las instituciones patrocinantes.
