Abstrac: After the reformation of 1998, the growth of media in Indonesia
increased rapidly, massively enacted Press Law no. 40 of 1999. Where one of its
contents guarantees freedom as a citizen's right. The climate of freedom then
encourages the growth of media and press companies. Especially with no longer
the requirements of Press Publishing Business License (SIUPP). Etc., easily set up
a press company. The use of internet-based media that encourages the
proliferation of the number of online media (siber) in Indonesia. Data media in
Indonesia is currently estimated there are about 2,000 print media. However, of
that amount, only 321 media can be referred to as professional media. While the
online media / cyber alleged to reach 43,300, but a decent as a professional
media that qualifies data collection in 2014 211 eyes only. This figure shrank to
168 online media in 2015. In addition, until the end of 2014 there are 1.166 radio
media and 394 television media. In 2015 the number of radio media shrank to
674 while the number of televisions became 523. The rapid growth of this media
is related to the mass media. There are many entrepreneurs are tempted to set
up a press company. They recruited editorial staff from various media to become
journalists, editors until editorial leaders in the new press company with a fairly
attractive salary. Including, low integrity to join the media as a business
opportunity. The strategic press position and profession of journalists are a new
target for earning money easily. This is what makes a lot of people want to be a
journalist with shortcuts. Many former journalists and people who have
absolutely no experience in the field of journalism desperate to establish the
press with minimal capital. Plus it can not be done with legal legality and also
does not meet the standards of press companies. This fact led to the rise of media
which later became better known as the media abal-abal. This type of media is
patrol reporters indiscriminately. Without ever providing training and briefing
journalistic skills. Media owners only provide their own press cards. This gives
birth to instant executives without adequate skills and knowledge. They are
willing to pay without salary. In fact, requires the singer to give a monthly deposit
to the owner of the media.
