Finger-handed relaxation is a non-pharmacological technique to reduce pain. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of finger hand relaxation on the decrease of pain in patient of post operative apendicitis in Kakatua and Melati room of RSUD Kabupaten Sorong and RSUD Sele Be Solu. The research design used Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The study was conducted from 30 mei sampai dengan 30 juni 2019 in Katua and Melati room of RSUD Kabupaten Sorong and RSUD Sele Be Solu. The population is all patients of post apendisitis treated in Katua and Melati room of RSUD Kabupaten Sorong and RSUD Sele Be Solu in a month as many as 21 intervention patienst and 15 control patiens. Sampling using Total sampling. Samples were 36 respondents. There are 2 variables, independent variables with finger hand relaxation and dependent with decreased pain. Data collection using Visual Analog Scale (VAS) scale. Statistical analysis using Paired Sample t Test with 0.05 significance level. The result of the research showed that prior to the giving of hand-held finger relaxation experienced moderate and severe controlled pain as many as 11 patiens (30,6 %). after the relaxation of hand-held fingers some experienced mild pain in 11 respondents (30,6%). Obtained p value = 0.001 ≤ α = 0.05. There is influence of finger hand relaxation to the decrease of pain in patient of post apendisitis and the results of the independent t test there were differences in the scale of pain p value = 0,000 ≤ α = 0,05 in Katua and Melati room of RSUD Kabupaten Sorong and RSUD Sele Be Solu. The hand-held relaxation technique stimulates the finger meridian that forwards the wave into the brain. The results of the hand- held relaxation treatment of the fingers will produce impulses transmitted through the nonnosiseptor afferent nerve fibers so that the pain stimulus is inhibited and reduced.
