S1 Supporting Information to “Kinetic trapping of large amount of long polymers in nanopores” by Andrzej ywoci ski, Anna Korda, Joanna Gosk, Stefan A.Wieczorek, Agnieszka Wilk, and Robert Holyst Materials The molecular weights of PEG, purchased from Fluka, were on average 6000, 8000, 20000. The measured polydispersity (using mass spectroscopy and size exclusion chromatography GPC) was typically PDI = 1.09 up to PDI = 1.13 for PEG 20000 with M n = 16300 for PEG 20000 (average mass between 16000 and 24000). C 12 E 6 (n-dodecyl hexaoxyethylene monoether) (molecular mass 450.66) of purity better than 98 % was purchased from Fluka. The melting temperature measured at the differential scanning calorimetry (and also given by Fluka Chemicals Co. was 27-28˚C. The phase diagram of C 12 E 6 is shown in Figure S1. Figure S1. The phase diagram of C 12 E 6 taken from ref. 1. All solutions were prepared using ultra pure water from double reversed osmosis apparatus. Synthesis of mono substituted 1-(polyoxyethylene glycoxy) antraquinone compounds (Figure S2) was carried out according to slightly modified procedure than described in ref. 2.
