Obregón, Sonora, México, maenedina@hotmail.com ABSTRACT Competence-Based Education (CBE) has been proposed as an alternative to achieve a meaningful and collaborative learning in students. Within the didactic of the CBE, the learning-based projects (LBP) is a technique that promotes active learning, because it is based on the development of a project in which basic skills are used to develop a product that goes beyond the academic and university. This article presents the experiences of the application of the LBP in matter of mechanisms related to the career of Mechatronics at Universidad La Salle Noroeste. The project was called to the University by a spin-off company and consisted of the design, manufacture and control of two robots. For the development of the project the students were divided into two groups. One group designed a delta parallel robot and the other an anthropomorphic robot 2 DOF. It was applied knowledge of mathematics, robotics, programming, control and numerical methods for the development of robots. The LBP technique is useful and practical for students learning, since it allowed an active, collaborative, meaningful and contextualized learning with industry. Keywords: Competence-based education, learning-based projects, mechanisms.
