Fathoni Rohman 3 , Ruthy Ngapiyem 4 , Enik Listyaningsih 5 ABSTRACT Curently the world is in an era of aging population. This must be balanced with fulfillment of welfare of the elderly. Social aspect such as contribution, actualization, acceptance, relationship, and integration needs to be considered and influenced by place of residence. Elderly social well being is the result of an assessment of the elderly’s ability to face social roles in society. Elderly who live in BPSTW and community have various backgrounds, so it’s necesssary to know its difference. The objective is to know the difference of social well being between those who are live in nursing homes and the community. It was comparative analytic with cross sectional approach. The sample was 41 elderly in BPSTW Abiyoso Unit and 57 elderly in Terban Village using simple random sampling. Instrument used social well being scale. Statistical test used Independent t Test showed there is significant differences in social well being of elderly who are living in BPSTW Abiyoso Unit and Terban Village Yogyakarta (p value <α or 0,000<0,05) with a significance level of 5% (0,05). The discussion conclusion there is a significant difference in which the social well being of elderly who are living in BPSTW Abiyoso Unit is higher than the elderly in Terban Village Yogyakarta in 2020. Keywords: Elderly, Nursing Home, Social Well Being INTISARI Saat ini dunia berada pada era penduduk menua. Peningkatan jumlah lansia harus diimbangi dengan terpenuhinya kesejahteraan lansia. Sosial lansia seperti kontribusi, aktualisasi, penerimaan, hubungan, dan integrasi sosial merupakan salah satu aspek yang perlu diperhatikan dan dipengaruhi oleh tempat tinggal. Social well being lansia merupakan hasil penilaian kemampuan lansia dalam menghadapi peran sosial dalam masyarakat. Lansia yang tinggal di BPSTW dan komunitas memiliki latar belakang beragam, sehingga perlu diketahui adakah perbedaan social well being lansia. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perbedaan social welll being lansia antara yang tinggal di panti dan masyarakat. Desain penelitian adalah analitik komparatif pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel berjumlah 41 lansia BPSTW Unit Abiyoso dan 57 lansia Kelurahan Terban Yogyakarta menggunakan simple random sampling. Alat ukur menggunakan social well being scale.
