Yüksek Öğretim Kurumu’na bağlı bu kurumların bir bölümü Üniversitelere bağlı olup bir kısmı da sadece Meslek Yüksek Okulu adı altında hizmet vermektedir. Devlet üniversiteleri ve vakıf üniversiteleri olmak üzere sayıları 2010 yılı itibarı ile 660’a ulaşmış olan MYO’larda görev yapan öğretim elemanı sayısı da 12160’tır (5myomt.sdu.edu.tr/doc/prof.dr.durmus_gunay_acilis_konusmasi.ppt). Meslek Yüksek Okullarının kendilerinden beklenen misyonu gerçekleştirebilmeleri için gerekli olan en önemli faktörlerden bi risi şüphesiz bu kurumlarda görev yapmakta olan akademik personelin işinde göstereceği performanstır. Bu performansı etkileyen ise akademik personelin işinden elde ettiği maddi ve manevi tatmindir. Bu çalışmada Türkiye’deki tüm Meslek Yüksek Okullarında görev yapmakta olan akademik personele ulaşılarak; yaptıkları işin niteliği, üniversitelerinin imajı, iş güvencesi, genel yönetim politikaları, akademik ortam, çalışma arkadaşları, ücret ve çalışma ortamı ile ilgili sorular yöneltilmiş ve elde edilen sonuçlar değerlendirilmiştir. Karşılaştırmalar çeşitli demografik özelliklere göre ve devlet üniversiteleri ile vakıf üniversiteleri bazında ele alınmıştır. ABSTRACT Vocational high schools are education institutions which train intermediate staff for the sector and their importance in present system is undoubted. Of vocational high schools affiliated to Higher Education Council, some of they are operating affiliated to Universities and others are operating independently under name of Vocational High School. The number of Vocational High Schools affiliated to State Universities and Foundation Universities reached 660 in 2010 and number of instructors working in those institutions is 12160 (5myomt.sdu.edu.tr/doc/prof.dr.durmus_gunay_acilis_konusmasi.ppt). In order to enable Vocational High Schools achieve the mission expected to be performed by them, one of most important factors is undoubtedly the performance of the academic personnel working in such institutions. The factor influencing the performance is the tangible and intangible satisfaction of the academic personnel in the job. In this study, all academic personnel working in all Vocational High Schools in Turkey are communicated and they are asked questions about the qualification of the job, image of universities, job security, overall management policies, academic environment, colleagues, price and working environment and answers obtained are examined. Comparisons are based on various demographics as well as differences between state universities and foundation universities.
