ANÁLISE E ESPACIALIZAÇÃO DOS MANGUEZAIS NO MUNICÍPIO DE UBATUBA (SP) UTILIZANDO-SE RECURSOS DO SENSORIAMENTO REMOTO Alexandre Nardy Vasconcellos 1 alexandre.nardy@itelefonica.com.br Fabio de Oliveira Sanches 2 fsanches@unitau.br UNIVERSIDADE DE TAUBATÉ RESUMO A costa litorânea brasileira corresponde aos locais das primeiras ocupações do território brasileiro, de onde se iniciaram as frentes de colonização. Neste cenário encontramos diversas situações geográficas devido a sua extensão e grande diversidade de ambientes ali contidos. Esta situação favorece a formação de baias e enseadas, onde a mansidão das águas, associada à desembocadura dos rios que permeiam as planícies litorâneas, desenvolve-se os manguezais. Estes ecossistemas são singulares no que diz respeito às espécies vegetais, porém abrigam uma infinidade de organismos que ali habitam, se alimentam e reproduzem, sendo extremamente importantes na manutenção da qualidade ambiental e dos estoques pesqueiros. No município de Ubatuba, litoral norte do Estado de São Paulo, a linha de costa segue este padrão, abrigando 84 praias onde existem condições favoráveis à ocorrência de manguezais. Este trabalho procurou mapear as áreas de ocorrência de manguezais no município utilizando-se como ferramenta recursos de sensoriamento remoto (imagem SPOT-2006) tratados em um Sistema de Informações Geográficas (SPRING). Os resultados mostraram que as praias da porção norte do município apresentam as maiores ocorrências de manguezais devido ao baixo índice de ocupação espacial e que as áreas urbanizadas (Centro, Indaiá, por exemplo) mostram que os manguezais vêm sofrendo a pressão do crescimento e da expansão urbana. ABSTRACT The Brazilian coast is the coastal sites of the first occupation of Brazilian territory, where they began the fronts of colonization. In this scenario we find several situations due to its geographical scope and diversity of environments out there. This favors the formation of bays and inlets, where the gentleness of water, associated with the outfall of the rivers that permeate the coastal plains, develops in the mangroves. These ecosystems are natural with respect to plant species, but harbor a multitude of organisms that live there, they feed and reproduce, are extremely important in maintaining the environmental quality and fish stocks. In the city of Ubatuba, northern coast of São Paulo State, following the coast line of this standard, housing 84 beaches where there are favorable conditions for the occurrence of mangroves. This study aimed to map the areas of occurrence of mangroves in the city using the resources as a tool of remote sensing (SPOT Image, 2006) processed in a Geographic Information System (SPRING).
