The inclusive production of charmed bary- ons A~ + by 40-70GeV neutrons on carbon has been observed. The decays A,~5~K~ (130+_18 events) and A~+--,A~ - (57+_14 events) have been detected. The mean value of A[ mass is (2,268 _+6) MeV/c< The invariant cross section for X >0.5 is described by E. d 3 a/dp 30C exp ( - b Pr)" (1 - X)" with b=(2.5_+0.6) (GeV/c) -1 and n=(1.5_+0.5).
