Therefore, fragmentation of large frames into smaller fragments, in order to reduce the effect of erroneous frames retransmission, is usually recommended. In this paper, we propose a Priority-based Fragments Retransmission (PFR) for IEEE 802.11 Ad hoc wireless networks. Our proposed idea affords the transmitter of fragments burst a priority to retransmit a lost fragment over other contending nodes in ad hoc wireless network. PFR includes a modification for the DCF (Distributed Coordination Function), in case of fragments loss. The idea is to give the transmitter a priority to retransmit the lost fragment over the other nodes that are contending on the channel before dropping already
