Case Report
A 28-year-old man was admitted at Tehran Air Force Hospital
in October 2001 for the evaluation of gradual enlargement
of his tongue with burning sensation and pain for a year.
The patient had a history of visceral leishmaniasis 7 years
ago and had been treated with meglumine antimonate
(Glucantime).
Physical examination revealed macroglossia with multiple
deep grooves on middle and lateral portions of the tongue
covered with white plaques (Fig. 1). There were also multiple
asymptomatic, hypopigmented macules on both forearms
(Fig. 2). Examination of other systems did not reveal any
abnormalities.
