AJEBM, Vol. 2, No. 2, JUNE 2019 1 Published by “Global Research Network LLC" https://www.globalresearchnetwork.us Introduction In the entire world; carbon dioxide is the most discussed issue because it is damaging the environment (Eneizan & Obaid, 2016); the main reason of this issue is the transportation because the vehicle uses the fuel that is being consumed considerably which create the pollution and emission of carbon in the environment. It is recommended that if the world wants to improve the environment and develop the sustainable economy then it is necessary to use the green technology based vehicles that are not consuming the fuel will not be a part of the pollution in the environment. In the current scenario; electric usage for the vehicle has become the most evident feature to avoid the usage of fuel and reduce the carbon emission. The induction of electricity based vehicle is highly innovative and having new stream for the automotive sector that consumes zero fuel and having high efficiency on the road. It is important to use the green vehicles such as electric based vehicles that will back the government initiatives and developments regarding the carbon free environment AMERICAN JOURNAL OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT ISSN: 2576-5973 Vol. 2, No.2, June 2019 The adoption of electrics vehicles in Jordan based on theory of planned behavior Bilal Eneizan Assistant Professor, Head of Marketing Department, Jadara University, Irbid, Jordan Correspondent author: bilalmomane@gmail.com DOI 10.31150/ajebm.Vol2.Iss2.64 Abstract: Using the electric vehicles (EVs) is indispensable for the reduction in fossil fuels consumption which are the main cause of carbon emission. However, research investigating the intention to adopt electric vehicle from developing countries perspective is limited. To fill this gap, this study used TPB model to study the effect of Attitude towards adoption EV, Subjective norm, and Perceived behavioral control on Intention to adopt electric vehicle. The conceptual framework of the study hypothesized several relationships and for that the data was collected through a questionnaire from a sample of 250 individual in Jordan. Results show that Attitude towards adoption EV, Subjective norm, and Perceived behavioral control have a positive influence on EV adoption intention. The findings lead towards the important implications that will help understanding consumer behavior towards adoption of EVs. Keywords: Attitude towards adoption EV, Subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, adoption intention, electric vehicle EV.
