On the basis of previous studies, one exogenous variable (Emotional Intelligence) and two endogenous variables, i.e. job satisfaction, and organizational commitment were analyzed through structural model. The participants were 419 academic leaders in Tamil Nadu Universities. They were chosen through Stratified Purposive Random Sampling Method. The results of the study indicate that emotional intelligence direct and indirect effects on job satisfaction, and organizational commitment. Moreover, emotional intelligence not only has a direct effect on job satisfaction, it also has an indirect effect on organizational commitment. Job satisfaction has a strong direct positive effect on organizational commitment. The mediatory role of job satisfaction in the effect of emotional intelligence on organizational commitment is confirmed in the study.
