The most striking characteristic of the period between 1954 and 1964 is how Realism became the main characteristic of Romanian art. The new importance bestowed on Realism created a linear history of Romanian art, according to which, beginning with Modernity, art constantly evolved through different forms of Realism into Socialist Realism. This paper follows the narrative strategies used between 1954 and 1964 in the journal’s papers regarding this topic.
