Email: archanadr9@gmail.com ABSTRACT Background- Haemorrhoids, also called piles are masses or clumps of tissues which consist of muscle and elastic fibres with enlarged, bulging blood vessels and surrounding supporting tissues present in the anal canal of an individual. It is a condition characterized by the prolapsed of an anal cushion that may result in bleeding and pain. Modern science has various treatment such as diet-lifestyle modification, sclerotherapy, banding, LASER ablation etc. and various surgical procedure such as haemorrhoidectomy, MIPH etc. with varied prognosis with definite untoward effects, and poor acceptability to surgery by patents due to risk of recurrence and fear of bleeding and incontinence. Based on resemblance in clinical features and pathogenesis Haemorrhoids can be co related with Gudarsha mentioned in Ayurvedic texts. Great Indian surgeon Sushrut, known as father of surgery narrated four type of treatment modalities as per the stage of Gudarsha such as Bheshaj (medicinal treatment), Agnikarma (Heatburn therapy), Ksharkarma (Herbal alkaline paste) and Shastrakarma (surgery). Further, it has been advocated that conservative management by combination of local drug administration adjuvant to palliative herbal drugs is effective and acceptable treatment in early stage of Gudarsha or Haemorrhoids. Aim-To compare Kasisadi taila and Pippalayadi taila- Matrabasti along with Haritakichurna Vati (internally) in the Management of Abhyantar Arsha (Haemorrhoids).
