It has a long pygidial spine, long genal spines and the smallest known sized eyes of other species of this genus; in addition, the palpebral lobe has a greater curvature at its posterior end. KEYWORDS - Trilobita, Lower Ktaoua Formation, Upper Ordovician, El Kaid Errami. INTRODUCTION In 2010, one of us (JC) visited the outcrop where the specimen presented here was finally obtained, as a part of the first study on the Upper Ordovician trilobite outcrops of El Kaid Errami (Jbel Tijarfaïouine, Jbel Bou Nemrou, etc.). Only a single sample corresponding to a young and incomplete specimen was then found. However, in 2012 another complete and well-preserved specimen was obtained; this is presented here as the holotype of the new proposed species. This article is a part of the study which is being developped since 2007 devoted to the new outcrops and species from the Ordovician of Morocco and that is part of the project supported by FOSILART [for more information, see the articles on trilobites from the Upper Ordovician: Vela & Corbacho (2009), Corbacho (2011), Corbacho & Kier (2011) and López-Soriano & Corbacho (2012)]. The genus Chattiaspis has been found in the Middle and Upper Ordovician of Europe. However, to our knowledge, this genus has not still been cited in Morocco; for this reason, if the assignment of this new species to the genus Chattiaspis is finally confirmed, it would be the first citation of the genus in this country GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION The studied locality (Figure 1) is located at the mountain named Tizi n'Mouri, in El Kaid Errami area and administrative district of Er Rachidia, approximately 367 km of the SE of Rabat and 24 km of the W of Rissani (Eastern Anti-Atlas, Morocco). The coordinates of the excavation were N 31º 19.848’ – W 004º 30.234’ and the altitude was 920 m; these data were recorded in October 2010 by one of us (JC) using a Garmin GPS model Foretrex 401. 6 BATALLERIA 19 2013 6-11 (Barcelona, noviembre 2013) ISSN0214-7831
