Abstract
A new series of indole carboxamides have been synthesized through coupling reactions. Several substitutions
on the aromatic ring and on the amino acids are well tolerated, and the corresponding indole carboxamides
have been obtained with good yields. The same procedure can be also extended to the pyrrole nucleus. Four
of these compounds have been screened for their antimicrobial activity against ten different yeast strains and
two of them showed an antifungal activity. Further explorations are required to clarify a potential applicability
in biological fields.
