Using a grounded theory approach, this qualitative research highlights shopaholics conducted by participants who come from among students. With a high prevalence of shopaholics among college students because it is related to lifestyle and trends among their peers. Compounded by the impact caused by this behavior in the form of money and a lot of time to fulfill shopping needs, this phenomenon is interesting to discuss. Participants as the main data source in this study were determined using purposive sampling with the criteria: female students, aged 18-20 years, and exhibiting shopaholic behavior. The results showed that the psychological dynamics of shopaholic perpetrators from among students was the tendency of the perpetrator's parents to apply permissive parenting accompanied by the availability of sufficient parental financial support (excessive monthly money) so that the students concerned did not feel guilty or felt the need to control their shopaholic behavior. Keywords: Psychological Dynamics, Shopaholic, Students Abstrak Shopaholic merupakan istilah yang digunakan untuk menjelaskan perilaku seseorang yang tidak mampu menahan keinginan untuk berbelanja. Menggunakan pendekatan grounded theory, penelitian kualitatif ini menyoroti shopaholic yang dilakukan oleh partisipan yang berasal dari kalangan mahasiswa. Dengan prevalensi shopaholic yang besar di kalangan mahasiswa karena terkait gaya hidup dan tren antar sebayanya. Diperparah dengan dampak yang ditimbulkan oleh perilaku ini berupa uang dan waktu yang tidak sedikit untuk memenuhi kebutuhan berbelanja menjadikan fenomena ini menarik untuk dibahas.
