HÁ LÓGICA NA LINGUAGEM INCLUSIVA? Erica Reviglio Iliovitz 1 Cleto Brasileiro Miranda Neto 2 RESUMO Este artigo discute -- e questiona -- o sentido e uso da chamada linguagem inclusiva, dando-se ênfase a uma análise das categorias de gênero gramatical e gênero sexual em sua estrutura. Pode-se pensar em linguagem inclusiva como uma proposta de inclusão de ambos os sexos no discurso. Argumentamos que a idéia de que a linguagem pode mudar a sociedade, bem como o pressuposto de que gênero gramatical e gênero sexual estão diretamente relacionados, não são totalmente apropriados. A perspectiva teórica adotada segue a desenvolvida pelo lingüista brasileiro Mattoso Câmara Jr. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: linguagem inclusiva, gênero gramatical, lingüística. ABSTRACT: This paper discusses -- and refuses -- the sense and use of the so-called inclusive language, giving emphasis to an analysis of the grammatical gender and sexual genre categories in its structure. Inclusive language may be thought of as a kind of proposal of inclusion of both sexes into the speech. We argue that the idea that language can change society, as well as the assumption that grammatical gender and sexual genre are directly related, are not entirely appropriate.
