En dicha obra analizamos tres aspectos fundamen- tales: su percepción del mundo árabe e islámico, sus traducciones de los principales autores – con Gibrán Khalil Gibran a la cabeza – y la propia estructura del libro, vin- culada plenamente con el acervo literario árabe. En fin, subrayaremos la relevancia de dicho autor en lo que se refiere a la trasmisión de tal cultura y literatura en Latino- américa, concretamente en Brasil. Palabras-clave: Literatura brasileña. ABSTRACT After a succinct general introduction to the life and work of Mansour Challita (diplomat, writer and translator of Lebanese origin, born in Colombia), and his ap- proach to Arabic and Islamic culture and literature, we will focus on his work As Mais Belas Paginas da Literatura Árabe. In this work we analyze three fundamental aspects: their perception of the Arab and Islamic world, their translations of the main authors – with Gibran Khalil Gibran at the helm – and the structure of the book itself, fully linked to the Arabic literary heritage. Finally, we will underline the relevance of this author in regard to the transmission of such culture and literature in Latin America, specifically in Brazil. Keywords: Brazilian literature.
