ABSTRACT People relied on their Smartphone for entertainment or online study throughout the lockout. Excessive Smartphone use can have a negative influence on human health and well-being. People's use of Smartphone increased during the lockdown compared to the prior lockdown period. Following the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, all institutions, industries, banks, and other organizations were shut down, and people were forced to stay at home. Sleep deprivation, brain tumors, hypertension, and visual difficulties, among other things, are all consequences of unmanaged and excessive Smartphone use. In this context, this study examines the excessive use of Smartphone among youth throughout the COVID-19 period, as well as their impact on health and wellbeing. Key Words: Smartphone, Impact, Health, Wellbeing, & Lockdown INTRODUCTION Coronavirus disease-19 was first discovered on December 31, 2019 in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, and has since been declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). Due to the pandemic, most countries around the world used physical separation and closed public spaces such as schools, colleges, and offices to curtail transmission. Many countries have declared nationwide lockdowns. People are compelled to remain in their homes. Large corporations permitted employees to work from home. Schools, colleges, and institutions were all closed due to the storm. People connect to devices to spend their time because children cannot go to a park or a sports area to play. They keep themselves entertained by playing video games and watching movies. People are increasingly spending time on their Smartphone, laptops, tablets, television, and computers. Excessive Smartphone usage might be hazardous to one's health. People are becoming more glued to Smartphone as a result of this unique circumstance. It has been argued that Smart Phones, despite being a relatively new human innovation, have become an inextricable aspect of human life. It incorporates a variety of smart features. It helps users to keep all of their photos, memories, personal information, correspondence, health, and financial information in one location. People are spending an increasing amount of time on social media, internet surfing, e-mail, photography, personal texting, and other similar activities (Pandey & Singh, 2020).
