A pesar de ello, la presencia de estructuras del Bildungsroman, la reducción del esquema actancial, el empleo de juegos de contrastes, de la redundancia, de amalgamas y de parábolas, contradicen tal hipótesis. La macroestructura de Canaã señala, antes, rasgos relevantes propios de la escritura del romance de tesis. Palabras clave: immigrante, romance de tesis, ideología, Bildungsroman. For the Brazilian critic, the novel Canaã of Graça Aranha is close to the ideological novels and/or the idea novels as they have made prominent by the French writer Paul Bourget. The presence of the Bildungsroman structures, the reduction of the actant model, the techniques of contrasts, the redundancies, the amalgamations and parables contradict this hypothesis. The macrostructure of Canaã points rather to the relevant features of the roman à thèse.
