Anita Demény 1 , Zoltán Musinszki 2 Ph.D. student Ph.D., associate professor, Vice-dean for Finance and Development Affairs University of Miskolc, Faculty of Economics, Institute of Finance and Accounting University of Miskolc, Faculty of Economics, Institute of Finance and Accounting INTRODUCTION The economic, social, technical, IT changes are able to continuously renew the accounting information system directly, or indirectly depending on the target system of the stakeholders. The statements and indicators are changing together with the accounting information system. The age of the financial reports and index numbers was over. Nowadays, the world beyond the financial reports get more and more space. Especially the sustainability. This study can give a view about the phylogeny of indicators from classical financial index numbers to sustainability reports. FINANCIAL INDICATORS, FINANCIAL REPORTS The indicator is a significantly merged numerical values that express the company (organizational) events in concentrated form. The indicators: briefly phrase the examined event, are simple, perspicuous, facilitate the comparisons. They can be widely applied, cause they are: the aids of the planning, decision preparation, management and control in all hierarchical levels, the devices of the internal and external company analysis, the parts of all hierarchical levels’ information systems. The indicators fill their decision support function with the selection and processing of the relevant information to the decisions. The judgment of the alternatives, the decision making and the coordination of different areas will become easier if the decision maker get compacted information. With the comparison of plan- and actual data they can fulfill the control function. Compressing the information has created ever more complex, labour-intensive and time-consuming solutions. The development of IT systems reduces the work and time needed, but the interpretation of the indicators is still an energy-intensive activity. [5][9] (See Figure 1.) The traditional financial indicators provide information about status of property, finance and profitability. They can give a view of the structure of the assets and the liabilities, the effectiveness of the assets, the amount of the debt, the liquidity, and the profitability relative to the various projection bases.
