Allant du Titre jusqu’aux informations transcrites sur la quatrième de couverture, Genette y a d’ailleurs consacré une œuvre entière, Seuils. Malgré toutes les références théoriques fondamentales qu’il procure aux critiques littéraires, le livre n’a pas trouvé sa for tune dans le domaine d’analyses pratiques littéraires. L’étude présente se donne donc pour but de traiter la question du Paratexte, mais inaugural, d’un drame historique qui entraîne ipso facto la particularité d’appréhender en plus de deux instances du Titre et de l’Epigraphe, celle des Didascalies avant-interactionnelles. Nous postulons qu’à peine ou même pas entamé le texte, le dramaturge de La Mort de Yazdegerd, fournit suffisamment d’éléments esthétique et idéologique au lecteur averti pour qu’il ait beaucoup plus qu’un premier aperçu et de la forme et du contenu du texte qu’il a l’intention de lire. Le Paratexte s’y fait figure d’un ‘’presque tout’’ condensé de la pièce entière. Beginning from the title to the back-cover information of a book, Genette dedicated a whole work to this aspect of a text in his “Seuils” (1987). In spite of all the basic theoretical references which this work has provided for literary criticism, it failed to find a fundamental place in the field of practical literary analyses. This article has studied the Paratext of “ Death of Yazdgerd”, a historical drama written by Bahram Beyzai. “Title”, “Epigraph” and pre-interactional “Stage direction”, the three outer text elements, have been perused in the mentioned drama. It is postulated that the Paratext of this opus, presents enough aesthetic and ideological elements to inform the reader of the form and contents of the text. Paratext has gone farther than its basic introductive role and has almost created a “cover -all” condensation for the play.
