TRILOGI: Jurnal Ilmu Teknologi, Kesehatan, dan Humaniora, 2(3), September - Desember 2021 303 Abstract One of the songs by Petrus Mahendra entitled “Seamin Tak Seiman” has a deep meaning related to the issue of love between diferent religions. This research was conducted to examine the representation of religion in a song. This research used descriptive qualitative method with a song titled “Seamin Tak Seiman” and others various scientifc references that support this research. Based on the lyric’s interpretation, it is clearly stated that the lyrics depicts the author’s idea that representing religion as a love restriction to the god will to tether their love in the sacred bond of marriage. The Islamic view of interfaith relations allows Muslim men to marry non- Muslim women (but still debated by many fqh experts), and Islam expressly prohibits Muslim women from marrying non-Muslim men. In addition to the Islamic view that strengthens the representation of religion as a restriction in “Seamin Tak Seiman”, if interfaith love relationship is continued in the marriage bond, there will be issued inner confict and confict with the families of each couple. Furthermore, in interfaith family, there will be competition between fathers and mothers to attract their children as adherents of the same religion as their father or mother, and the marriage purpose to achieve true harmony is very difcult to obtain due to the life principles diferences in each religion.
