This research found the ability of students in pluralizing nouns in English. Pluralizing nouns is divided into two forms, regular and irregular form. The objectives of the research were to find out their ability and problems to pluralize nouns. The instruments used in this research-tested, and interview. The sample of this research was 32 students. Based on the test, the number of the ability was very good, 25% (8 students), good 38% (12 students), and medium, 15% (5 students), while bad 13% (4 students), and very bad 9% (3 students). The problems were that the students did not know accurately the rules or patterns of how to pluralize noun in English especially the irregular ones (63%), not understanding the materials of plural nouns (15%), feeling difficult to apply plural nouns in sentences related to concordances (13%), and Feeling confused with the process of pluralizing irregular nouns dealing with some exceptions (9%). INTRODUCTION A noun is one of the most important parts of speech. Nouns together with verbs help the speaker form the sentence core which is essential to every complete sentence. A noun is a word that we use for giving a name to a person, place, thing, quality, idea, or action. Parrot (2000:9) stated the definition of nouns is to express a range of additional meanings such as concepts, qualities, organizations, communities, sensations, and events. The plural form of nouns refers to those with more than one person or thing. Plural nouns are used to indicate a large number of objects. Studying plural forms of nouns, the students got a problem to differ singular from plural. They lacked knowledge in pluralizing particular nouns such as knife, wife, potato, radio, watch, etc. They used to put –s at the end of the words they wanted to make them plural. Consequently, they broke the rule as not every word is ended with –s in plural form. Plural nouns are also required in knowledge and skills regarding the theoretical and philosophical foundation of the English subject after participating in the Language Subject Teacher Management Language activities English (Saragih & Dewi, 2018; Saragih & Novimariono, 2020) There were some previous researches related to this topic, such as Onem (2016) showed the differences and similarities plural between English and Turkish. Contrastive analyses of both languages showing that English and Turkish have different rules for the plural markers but similar pluralizing processes. Besides the regular and irregular plural form differences in English and Turkish, the differences depend heavily on the use of consonants
