The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between knowledge
management processes and empowerment of human resources. Knowledge
management in the field of human resource means employee empowerment and
equivalent to the concept of human resource development. In this study we tested
the hypothesis that the result be based on the empowerment of knowledge
management processes and in this context, we have special attention to personal
knowledge workers within organizations by creating, acquiring and sharing. This
research has been conducted on Iran Air Tour airline that is a professional
organization and empowerment of human resources and knowledge management
plays a crucial role for the success and progress of the company. This research in
terms of objective is practical and in terms of methods is survey method. To test
the hypothesis, the information is randomly gathered by 73 questionnaires that
include the opinion of managers and employees. The results indicate that there is
a positive relationship between process of knowledge management and human
resource empowerment.

1. Introduction
Knowledge management and empowerment of human resource were the new topic in the past two decades in
successful organizations. The two issues are important in this century because the main source of competitive
advantage and organizational effectiveness will not be new technology. The main sources include Knowledge,
initiative, creativity, commitment, support and involvement that will be achieved in the shadow of empowerment
human and knowledge management. However, with regard to special feature of today's world that include accelerated
change, authority shifts, increasing complexity, increasing competition and rapid advances in science, Knowledge
management has become one of the important policies of each organization, in other words, knowledge management
has become one of the duties of organizations and communities. Nowadays, empowerment of human resource is an
important issue in human resource management in organizations. By reviewing a literature related to empowerment, the
role of knowledge is clearly noticeable. On the other hand, theoretical background and opinion of expert indicate the
necessity of using knowledge management is undeniable. One of the most important factors that effect on
empowerment is information, knowledge and job skills. Bowen and Lawler described empowerment as contribution of
frontline staff in four elements of information, knowledge, power and reward (Bowen & Lawler, 1992). According to
