V. RAMAN ** AND ANU PRASHANT *** Abstract Bank employees are one of the most dedicated and committed employees, who put their soul in work and are deemed to be major factor for success of Banks. With this purpose in mind, several management researchers are trying to analyze the different parameters of Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), Employee Engagement and Proactive Behavior which are encouraged to be fostered amongst employees for overall accomplishment of Banks. The Banking Industry has been a major contributor to the development and progress of the Indian economy. It’s worth is over Rs. 81 Trillion and contributes more than 10 percent of GDP to India’s economy. Hence, emphasis needs to be paid to the associations of competency, balance cum quality of working life alongwith transformational leadership. Organization Citizenship Behavior can be explained as an employee’s behavior that is flexible and may be recognized by the Banks formal incentive system and enhances its effective functioning. Employee Engagement is degree to which the Bank is able to provide sustainable conditions to employees so that they are motivated to perform to the best of their abilities. Proactive Behaviour is much needed in employees in Bank as they work in a Service Industry and need to be on their toes always. However, it is responsibility of Banks top management to provide them a supportive and encouraging environment for them to exhibit proactiveness. It has been observed that there exists a positive relationship between OCB, Employee Engagement and Proactive Behavior towards an employee’s performance. These aspects have been deemed to be essential for achieving high returns in terms of both productivity of employees and revenue for Bank. and OCB.
