Understanding tourist behavior while visiting Indonesia plays a vital role in determining a suitable tourism strategy by knowing the tourist movement. But monitoring tourist movement is a nontrivial problem. Therefore, this study uses data sources based on tourist reviews on social media. The data is then applied to form the network based on network science that models their movements in Indonesia. The authors pick Lombok and Bali to represent this study because both islands are the most popular tourist destinations. This study models a complex representation of tourist movement, finds tourist movement directions to recognize their favorite destinations, and find the group of location preferred by tourist through network visualization. The study will be beneficial for policymakers, business opportunities, and the tourism office. Keywords— Tourist Movement Analysis, Network Science, Network Analysis, Tourism Industry Strategy. I. INTRODUCTION As a well-known country full of diversity with various attractions, Indonesia is considered one of the best destinations to visit by both domestic and international tourists. The Indonesian tourism industry plays a prominent role in supporting economic growth, increasing tourist visits in the past five years. In January 2020, tourist visits grew by 5.85% compared to January 2019 [1]. Therefore, the tourism industry in Indonesia has become the primary source of regional economic development as a contributor to the country's foreign exchange [2]. According to the World’s Best Award survey in 2020, Lombok and Bali are among Asia's top 10 best islands in Asia [3]. It has become natural for tourists to leave comments on social media platforms for online reviews in the last few years, such as Tripadvisor and Google Maps [4]. With the technological developments, this phenomenon facilitates access to the data needed for research and practice purposes, including tourism data, such as data about visiting tourist destinations [5]. Currently, there is not much information/study showing how tourists move in Lombok and Bali. Data on the tourist movement is also not quickly obtained. The abundant amount of data produced is extracted from these platforms as free data for analysis in this study which was retrieved by scraping from the user accounts’ reviews [6]. The tourist movement based on reviews on social media shows the tourist's behavior, which has the potential for studies to determine the suitable tourism industry management strategies for tourism development, such as developing tourist attractions or tourism products [5] [7]. The movement pattern assists the business activities and the government in increasing the quality of tourist attractions, tourist transportation, planning tourism products, and developing the shopping centers. Based on the tourist movement between visited destinations, a spatial network pattern formed. Network analysis creates consumer spatial behavioral patterns and opportunities through the business marketing sector, especially in the tourism sector, which is expected to generate a positive image from tourists to further interest them in visiting Lombok and Bali [8]. The direction of tourist movement and favorite tourist destinations represented by the network are explored based on tourist movement from reviews on social media data. The direction of tourist movement focuses on potential routes visited by tourists, while the favorite destinations focus on understanding tourist potential location points to visit. The nature of this research is purely taking advantage of the availability of large-scale social media data, which the authors believe will complement similar studies using the legacy methodology. This study aims to analyze the tourist movement mapped with network analysis to determine the direction of tourist movement and existing favorite destinations. The authors aim to provide recommendations on developing potential tourism industry locations [9]. In addition, the mapping of tourist networks provides prospective recommendations for domestic and international tourists in visiting potential tourist destinations in Lombok and Bali and for the government and tourism business activities to improve the economy through the tourism industry. II. LITERATURE REVIEW A. Tourist Movement The tourism sector dramatically influences economic improvement because the quality of services in tourism attracts tourists [10]. Tourism is a travel activity carried out for vacation or recreation [11]. The characteristics of tourism activities are classified into two kinds, elements of the human movement who travel and live in the destination outside their daily environment, and the purpose of travel has expanded beyond just recreation, visiting relatives and friends [12]. Tourism is closely related to consumer behavior in visiting a tourist destination so that the analysis of the tourist network is observed spatially [8]. Tourist destinations are the most important aspect for tourism management in attracting tourists to visit favorite tourist attractions to improve the
