MARÍA DE ARAGÓN E ISABEL DE PORTUGAL A TRAVÉS DE LAS CRÓNICAS MARÍA OF ARAGÓN AND ISABEL OF PORTUGAL TROUGH THE CHRONICLES Diana PELAZ FLORES Universidad de Valladolid pelaz_flores@hotmail.com RESUMEN Entre las fuentes con las que contamos para el estudio de las reinas medievales, hay que potenciar el estudio de las Crónicas, debido a la visión que ofrecen desde la propia época de estas mujeres y los acontecimientos con los que son relacionadas en función de determinados intereses. Mediante las Crónicas del reinado de Juan II podemos acercarnos a la figura de María de Aragón e Isabel de Portugal y así comprobar cómo se desenvolvían y participaban dentro del mundo cortesano. PALABRAS CLAVES: Reina, Corte, Poder, Crónica, Intrigas Palaciegas ABSTRACT The Chronicles are a fundamental source for the investigation of the medieval ladies in general, the queens in particular, because they give the proper perspective of the Middle Ages about these women and these sources help to know the different interests which lead to talk about the queen of a determinate way. Trough the Chronicles which narrate the Juan II’s reign we can come close to the figure of María of Aragón and Isabel of Portugal and so we can check how these ladies, acted and participated inside the court.
