EL VIAJE ALREDEDOR DEL MUNDO DE LOUIS-ANTOINE DE BOUGAINVILLE Diana-Adriana LEFTER 1 Résumé Dans notre travail nous nous proposons de revisiter l’un des plus importants textes de voyage du XVIIIème siècle, situé à la frontière entre le littéraire et le scientifique : Le Voyage autour du monde de Louis Antoine de Bougainville. Notre intérêt porte principalement sur la partie du texte dédiée aux observations faites sur l’île de Tahiti. Nous considérons que ces observations mettent en évidence essentiellement trois aspects : la nature, la corporéité des habitants et les pratiques sociales et culturelles. Mots-clés : Tahiti, exotisme, nature, culture, corporéité Abstract The aim of our paper is to propose a new personal approach of one of the most important texts of the literature of voyage in the XVIII th century, a text with a double belonging, to the literature and to the scientific domain: Louis Antoine de Bougainville’s Voyage Round the World. We are mainly interested by the part of the text, which present the observations about Tahiti, the island that fascinates Bougainville. We consider that the voyager’s observations are mainly focused on three elements: the nature of the island, the bodies of the inhabitants and the social and cultural behaviour of Tahitians.
