Some modifications can be used to overcome the coastal sandy land problem such as applications of Bacillus sp. and using some superior carrot varieties. This research aimed to obtain the appropriate combination of applications frequency of Bacillus sp. and superior carrot varieties in producing the best growth and yield in coastal sandy land. This research was conducted in coastal sandy land of Bugel, Panjatan, Kulon Progo at an altitude of 5 m above sea level from May until October 2019. The first factor is the application amount of Bacillus sp. (2 and 4 times). The second factor is carrot varieties, there are introduced varieties (‘New Kuroda’, ‘Kuroda’, ‘Shin Kuroda’ and ‘Kuroda EW’) and Indonesian local varieties ‘Gundaling’ (Berastagi) and ‘Gemuk’. This research used a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) Factorial. The results showed that there is not interaction between Bacillus sp. and carrot varieties for most observed variable such as: plant height, leaf number, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, tuber length, stem diameter, productivity, and sweetness test. Application of Bacillus sp. for 4 times showed the highest results on each observed variabel. The adaptive carrot varieties grown in the lowlands are the introduction varieties there are ‘New Kuroda’, ‘Kuroda’, ‘Shin Kuroda’ and ‘Kuroda EW’ and ‘Gundaling’ (Berastagi) as a local Indonesian varieties.
