JESUS CHRIST: ZOROASTRIAN SUN WORSHIPPER This paper will make several steps towards illuminating the truth about both the Indian Jesus & his worship of the sun both in Israel & India. There are only two certainties in life – birth & death. Between life’s two indelible bookends, all that stuff inbetween remains open to subjective intepretation & objective misrepresentation. Jesus Christ is a classic example, for outwith the Christian tradition he appears in quite a number of different legends & religions, some clearly as a Jesus figure, but in others seemingly somebody else without people realising this man was actually Jesus. Where a modern Tamil scholar, K.D. Thirunavukkarasu writes, 'the fragrance of a lotus is the sum total of the fragrance of the individual petals that compose the lotus... If the petals are plucked away, the lotus ceases to exist. If what has happened or has been achieved in the regional spheres is bypassed, the composite image... gets distorted and disturbed,' in the same fashion, many of the petals of the Jesus lotus have been stripped away, leaving us only the 'distorted and disturbed' image contained within the Gospels.
