No entanto, ao longo dessa história, as mulheres tiveram participação signifcativa em diversas áreas, como inventoras, empreendedoras, pilotas de corrida, engenheiras e designers, entre outras. Acima de tudo constituíram e constituem poderoso segmento do mercado consumidor e, ainda assim, o automóvel é tido como território predominantemente masculino. Sem aprofundar nas razões sociais e antropológicas desse cenário, este trabalho procura, por meio de alguns apontamentos históricos, registrar exemplos da participação e do protagonismo feminino no mundo dos automóveis e contribuir para desnaturalizar os estereótipos que cercam as mulheres. Abstract: The history of the automobile is vast, complex and records inventions, innovations and protagonists of diferent nationalities, mainly men. However, throughout this history, women have had signifcant participation in all areas, such as inventors, entrepreneurs, racing drivers, engineers and designers, among others. Above all, they have constituted and constitute a powerful segment of the consumer market, and yet the car is considered to be predominantly male territory. Without examining the social and anthropological reasons behind this scenario, the present work seeks, through some historical notes, to record examples of female participation and protagonism in the world of automobiles and to contribute to the denaturalization of the stereotypes that surround women.
