Emotional intelligence may be one of factors influencing the delivery of the competence. Little is know about students' emotional intelligence of a prospective midwife. This understanding is important because it will affect the management of his emotions. Studies about students’ of the Diploma degree of Midwifery Course Program at Ganesha University of Education were also lacking in this topic. This study aimed to determine the emotional intelligence of midwifery students at Ganesha University of Education. This was a descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach. Data on emotional intelligence of students was obtained using an emotional intelligence questionnaire instrument consisting of 30 positive and negative statements. This instrument was developed by the researcher through Gregory's internal validity test. There were 42 semester IV midwifery students responded to this questionnaire. The data was analysed descriptively. The results showed that 7.14% of students' emotional intelligence was categorized as very high, 11.9% were categorized as high, 35.71% were categorized sufficiently, 14.29% were categorized as low and 30.95% were categorized as very low. This study found that the majority of students in this program has sufficiently emotional intelligence . From these results it is hoped that there will be efforts from institutions to improve students' emotional intelligence, one of which is developing learning tools by paying attention to emotional intelligence so that they can improve student competency. Abstrak Kompetensi bidan yang utama adalah memberikan asuhan kepada kliennya baik sebagai individu, keluarga dan masyarakat. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi baik tidaknya seorang bidan dalam melaksanakan kompetensinya adalah kecerdasan emosional. Hal tersebut perlu digali termasuk bagi seorang calon bidan, karena akan berpengaruh pada pengelolaan emosinya. Sampai saat ini di Prodi D3 Kebidanan Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha belum pernah dilakukan survey tentang kecerdasan emosional mahasiswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui gambaran kecerdasan emosional mahasiswa kebidanan. Penelitian ini berjenis penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan crossectional. Data kecerdasan emosional mahasiswa didapatkan dengan menggunakan Kata Kunci : Kecerdasan Emosional, Mahasiswa Kebidanan
