ABSTRACT Introduction: Over recent decades, suicide has been raised as one of the major health and treatment issues worldwide, so that it is one of the controversial issues with the priority on mental health in the World Health Organization (WHO). This study assessed personal characteristics, time and place of suicide fatality rate in the various methods of suicide attempts. Material & Methods: In this descriptive analytical research, 613 pre-registered lists of suicide cases, including age/sex specific fatality rate, attempted methods of suicide within one year using related risk index were evaluated. Findings: The case fatality rate caused by suicide among the study population was 6.6%, namely 6% in females, 6.7% in males, and an overall rate of 6.6%, which was not significantly different in the two sexes. The suicide fatality rate of 5% in the age groups under 25 years old increased to 21% in the age group of over 45 years old. The case fatality rate caused by suicide for married men was 13.7% compared to married women 7%. Suicide by hanging with a case fatality rate of 100% and self-immolation with a fatality rate of 69% ranked second. Conclusions: The increase in the fatality rate of suicides due to age and marital status can be associated with using the most lethal suicide methods. Married women had a higher rate of suicide but lower rate of dead by suicide compared with married men. The most suicidal deaths were detected in low educated married women and house wives as well as uneducated and unemployed men. Keywords: Suicide, fatality, Bushehr Province, Iran. Introdução: Nas últimas décadas, o suicídio foi levantada como um dos principais problemas de saúde e de tratamento em todo o mundo, de modo que é um dos temas polêmicos com a prioridade sobre a saúde mental da Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS). Este estudo avaliou as características pessoais, hora e local da taxa de mortalidade de suicídio nos diversos métodos de tentativas de suicídio. Material e Métodos: Neste trabalho de análise descritiva, foram avaliados 613 listas de pré- inscritos de casos de suicídio, incluindo a idade / taxa de mortalidade específica sexo tentativas de métodos de suicídio dentro de um ano usando o índice de risco relacionados. Resultados: A taxa de letalidade causada por suicídio na população estudada foi de 6,6%, ou seja, 6% em mulheres, 6,7% no sexo masculino, e uma taxa global de 6,6%, o que não foi significativamente diferente nos dois sexos.
