Por circularem entre comunidades linguísticas com diferentes idiomas, frequentemente demandam tradução. Os tradutores, por sua vez, diante da especialidade dos textos com que se deparam, necessitam não apenas de proficiência nos idiomas envolvidos, mas consciência do conjunto de variáveis extralinguísticas incidentes sobre a tradução desses textos. Nesta perspectiva, o estudo que segue tem como fim problematizar a tradução de textos de divulgação científica considerando a terminologia e suas contribuições no que diz respeito a linguagens de especialidade e banalização. Translation, scientific dissemination and Terminology: an exploratory paper Abstract: Increasing investments in research and the intensification of exchange of knowledge, methodologies and research techniques among countries have boosted the production of specialized texts full of terminologies. Because these texts move around communities of distinct languages, translation is often required. Translators, for their turn, when facing specialized texts are required not only proficiency in the languages involved, they also need to be conscious of the extralinguistic issues that affect their translations. Under this perspective, the present study aims at discussing the translation of scientific dissemination texts focusing on terminology and its contribution to the matter of specialized languages and banalization.
