As economical benchmark, fishermen must used fishing gear including rumpon as attractor for increasing the production and incomes. The research is conducted on April to July 2018. The aim of this research is to determine amount of capture yield and income. The research method by using experimental fishing in small scale fisheries that used rafia rope and traditional rumpon at West Aceh waters. The result showed that capture yield of both of rumpon with capture comodities including pelagic fish with different amount, the profit analysis were obtained 18 trips is Rp. 5.684.700,- with comparison that showed that rafia rope is lower than traditional rumpon with capture yield as much as 38,5 % from rafia rope and traditional rumpon as much as 61,5 %. PENDAHULUAN Usaha penangkapan ikan merupakan suatu kegiatan ekonomi sehingga dalam menjalankan aktifitasnya berdasarkan pertimbangan-pertimbangan ekonomi. Hal ini memerlukan faktor input dan adanya hasil ( ouput). Dengan demikian, usaha harus menghasilkan keuntungan sebagai hasil untuk pendapatan nelayan. Faktor input dalam menjalankan usaha penangkapan terdiri dari berabagai faktor input seperti BBM, makanan, alat tangkap, dan armada penangkapan, sedanbgkan ouputnya sebagai hasil luaran dari proses penangkapan ikan adalah berupa ikan, yang dijual sebagai komponen penerimaan. Jumlah penerimaan ditentukan oleh jumlah hasil tangkapan dan tingkat harga penjualan. Aceh Barat merupakan wilayah pesisir yang kaya akan hasil perikanannya. Hal tersebut tidak terlepas dari letaknya yang menghadap langsung ke Samudera Hindia yang kaya akan ikan (Diana et al. 2010).
