Zbigniew Wolak IDĄC W ŚLADY KOŁA KRAKOWSKIEGO FOLLOWING THE CRACOW CIRCLE SUMMARY In this article I say about my way to philosophy, in which a special role was played by Fr. prof. Michael Heller and, thanks to him, the Cracow Circle. I present some of my philosophical research, inspired by these philosophers, especially concerning to the usage of logic in philosophical analysis. Tere is in the article the critique of certain errors, pointed by the members of the Circle, and found in writings of some great logi- cians and philosophers (Łukasiewicz and Peirce) and their followers. Particular atten- tion is paid to the improper identifcation of causal and logical relations, and then to some problems of logical paraphrase, where I less focused on the criticism, and more on proposals for translation into the language of logic. Te aim of such application of logic is to develop these fragments of philosophy, which are well prepared for this type of analysis while avoiding – as Fr. Salamucha called them – “intellectual smuggling”, that is unjustifed transfer methods or results from some felds of science to another. Tat style of developing philosophy and theology is still worth of interest. KEYWORDS: logic in philosophy, causal and logical relation, logical paraphrase, ab- duction, contradiction.
