Macroalgae was cultivated using the longline method from four diferent agetreatments of seedlings. The results showed that there was a signifcant ef- fect (p<0.05) on the growth and content of carrageenan. The highest absolute growth average was at 30 days of seedling age (335.7g) and the lowest was at 0 day of seedling age (145.4g). Meanwhile, the highest daily growth rate of K. alvarezii was 30 days of seedling (6.53%day- 1) and the lowest was at 0 day of seedling age (1.63%day-1). Meanwhile, the highest car- rageenan content was at 30 days of seedling (53.84%) and the lowest was at 0 day of seedling age (10.20%).
