Drª. da Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú E-mail: icaracristi@hotmail.com Resumo: O presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar a percepção da população sobralense sobre o microclima da cidade, verificando-se como os mesmos identificam os lugares, períodos e horas que apresentam situações climáticas desconfortáveis com altas temperaturas. Para tanto, foram executadas 50 entrevistas em dois períodos distintos da sazonalidade climática da cidade. As respostas dadas revelam que a população de Sobral é capaz de fazer corretas conceituações sobre o clima da cidade, além da percepção de distintos microclimas e, quase sempre, voltada à sensação de desconforto térmico. O percentual de 12% que consideram “toda a cidade” com ambiente quente, tem um grande significado, afinal esse desconforto térmico é sentido em todos os espaços da cidade pela população. PERCEPTION OF THE POPULATION WITH THE CLIMATE OF THE CITY OF SOBRAL – CE Abstract: This article aims to analyze the perception of the Sobralense population about the microclimate of the city, verifying how they identify the places, periods and hours that present uncomfortable climatic situations with high temperatures. To this end, 50 interviews were conducted in two distinct periods of the city's climate seasonality. The answers given reveal that the population of Sobral is able to make correct conceptualizations about the city's climate, as well as the perception of distinct microclimates and, almost always, focused on the sensation of thermal discomfort. The percentage of 12% that consider “the whole city” with warm environment, has a great meaning, after all this thermal discomfort is felt in all spaces of the city by the population.
