The study is performed on the students who study at the Kirklareli University in Turkey. In the study, the Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale is used and data is obtained using the questionnaire form. Using random sampling method, 1000 fully answered questionnaires has been considered. SPSS for Windows 15.0 package program is used for analyzing data. Among the students who have participated in this study, it has been found that 42.7% of them chose the “none” option for anxiety, 57.3% chose low, normal, and high levels of anxiety and 46.8% of them chose the “none”option for avoidance behaviors, 53.2% chose rarely, often, always have had avoidance behaviors. Women, students living in rural areas, having a father who has autocratic behaviors and students having low income have higher levels of social phobic tendency. Sociodemographic characteristics affect the tendency for social phobic anxiety and avoidance behaviors of the students. It is expected that this study may affect manners of university managers and lecturers to students in a positive way in terms of managing the psychological health of students.
